Frequently asked
we love your work – how do we book?
If you’ve decided you want me to photograph your wedding, that’s amazing, thank you! Ok, first things first drop me an email to see if I have your date available.
I love to meet my clients in person or facetime/skype if you prefer. You can tell me all about your plans. I can also talk through how I will approach your day. I will bring some albums and USB samples to show you and we can go over the paperwork (the boring bit). I take a deposit of £150 (which you can send via bank transfer) to secure your date in my diary.
I also have a second meeting closer to the big day (around 4-6 weeks), this gives time for any last-minute changes to take place. We can go over your final time plan and group shots you would like me to capture. I am happy to come to you, or we can meet in a friendly local coffee shop.
Are you insured?
Yes definitely! I hold a professional insurance policy at all times.
We feel a little awkward in front of the camera?
This is totally normal. I feel the same way.
For most of the day, I’ll work unobtrusively, and you’ll be having too much fun to notice me too much. I think it’s much more valuable to capture the actual story of the day, and the real moments instead of forcing things. A photo of you laughing because something funny has happened is so more precious than you fake laughing because I’ve asked you to!
When we go for couple portraits, I do those in a fun and natural way. I have a very easy to understand framework to create genuine romantic photos. I will guide you through the whole thing and make it a fun experience.
I like to split the couples portraits part up into two parts. I like 15-30 mins away from your guests just after your group shots. I then go for some more after you wedding breakfast while your venue is changing your room for the evening part – this means I will get lots of photos of the two of you without you having to miss any of your day.
What equipment do you use? Do you have backups?
I’m a Nikon guy and I use the latest generation Nikon mirrorless cameras and a range of professional prime, telephoto and wide-angle lenses and flashguns. Yes, I always bring back up equipment just in case.
How far do you travel?
I include travel within a 100-mile radius of my home in Hedge End, Southampton. I am happy to travel further afield; in these circumstances travel expenses would need to be agreed before booking.
When do we have to pay our deposit? When is the final balance due?
Once you have decided to go ahead, I will require a deposit of £150 to secure the wedding date in my diary. Unfortunately, I cannot hold dates until I have your deposit I work on a first-come-first-served basis.
Your final balance is due four weeks before the wedding day.
